Brownstone Park- Portland CT

Anyone been here before?  I am trying to look at different activities to setup for the upcoming summer and wanted to get  incite on this place.  Did not know if it was worth while or not.  From the pictures it looks good, but you just never know.

Re: Brownstone Park- Portland CT

  • I have...

    (love your pony pic!)

We went almost 2 years ago and were disappointed. We expected there to be more- there was just one zipline, the entire place was crawling with TONS of kids- just not what we expected.

We decided that it would be great to go back with a big group and that my teenage brother and his friends would have a BLAST.

It just wasn't worth the admissions to us to swim, wait in line, go down a zipline and leave! HTH

On the other hand, tubing down the farmington river is a blast.... relaxing, look up farmingtonrivertubing.com!

  • Thanks!   Thats my guy after a horse show.  :)

Also, thanks for your opinion on the park.  I been trying to find areas nearby to visit either to try some new diving areas or areas to trailer my ponies places.  Trying to keep the boredom to a minimum without going completely broke.  I will check out farmingtonrivertubing  looks like a lot of fun!

  • no problem! I have a few friends that own horses and might be able to get some info from them for you too!! (I know there is a CT ride for breast cancer, on horseback- would be the first thing i did if i owned a horse!!)
  • I went with the hubby last summer and had a blast! You can go cliff diving, zip cord, swim, wake boarding or just relax. Its fun but alot of good haelthy excercise! Go when it is hot I would say more July then the water is perfect. Have fun and its worth the price (I think it was 20 a person for the whole day and different packages)
