Jumping over from the GA board
Hey everyone,So DH and I have been looking into getting out of Atlanta for some time now and we keep going back to the idea of California. Just wondering if you guys could offer any advice? We have a 2 month old son, Jake and we're looking to live somewhere within 15-20 minutes of the beach, somewhere nice but it doesn't have to be rows of mansions, we'd love to live in a condo/loft but a house in the suburbs would be nice too. Any names of neighborhoods/areas or any other helpful tips you can think of would be great! Thanks!
Re: Jumping over from the GA board
hey I recognized you from Atlanta. We moved down here in July from Atl. Not a big fan of it down here. We really miss the big city feel. Also, Orlando is about 45 mins from the beach. I probably would like it better if we were closer. Florida is just not the same as Atlanta. It's missing the southern charm and hospitality (although the ladies at Publix are a lot nicer down here). Plus there is not really a sense of community or neighborhood here.
Our good friends moved from Atlanta to Redondo Beach in CA (spelling?) and they really like it. DH and I have said that if we didn't have all our family on the East Coast, we would be in CA in a heartbeat.
