OMG I just looked at your blog and I was scrolling through real quick and saw your cat sleeping on the stove.  What a riot!  I'm sure my cat would catch herself on fire!

Re: * Jeff & Em *

  • Isn't she a weirdo?  I'm terrified she's going to light up one day, but I can't keep her off of the stove.

I've found what works well to keep cats off of stuff is to coat it in double-sided tape or aluminum foil.  They don't like the texture.  You could cover some cardboard with either one and place it on the stove.  Alternatively, you could try Cat Scat Mats

We've tried the foil, tape, shallow pans of water, spray bottles, cans of pennies, nubby things, zappy Scat Mats (worst idea ever, and I totally regret using them), and the vacuum.  Oh, and cans of puffy air.  Stick out tongue

We've just given up on the stubborn princess.  : )  She normally gets put up in the bathroom when we cook, but the carnitas cook for several hours.

I like the scat mats that you posted, though.  I'll keep them in mind if I start catching her up on the stove more often.
