moisturizer recommendations?

Looking to green up my beauty routine. I'm finally running out of my old products so I need to replace them. I checked EWG's site and of course my current moisturizers don't rate all that well. The only thing my grocery store carries is Jason and Kiss My Face...which also don't rate very well.

What do you like and where do you buy it?

Re: moisturizer recommendations?

  • Do you mean for face, or body? I don't use a separate facial moisturizer (I oil cleanse with coconut oil) but I love Alba's body lotion, so I would try their facial moisturizer.

  • I've been using straight jojoba oil and my skin (both face and body) has been loving it. I get it at my health food store.

  • I made my own using a combination of EV coconut oil, jojoba oil, and vitamin E oil. It took some trial and error with measurements until I found a formula I like.

  • i'm currently using the Earth Science brand moisturizer from Whole Foods. It was the only kind I could find with sunscreen in it. I cannot go out of the house without sunscreen.
  • Devita Solar Protect Moisturizer.

I use that during the day.  At night, I'm currently finishing up a bottle of cold cream.  Once that's gone, I'm going to try Coconut Oil and see how it works.  If I don't like it, I found a recipe for homemade cold cream I'm going to try.

Then I follow up with Burt's Bees Naturally Ageless Skin Firming Nightcream.

  • For night or anytime, I like California Baby Calendula Cream - feels so good on my face.  For average daytime use, I just bought Sun*Si'Belle Organic Triple Action Moisturizer with SPF 30+ based on EWG reviews.  It's really expensive, but it's nice and blends well under makeup.
