How 'bout no more rain?!?!

Re: How 'bout no more rain?!?!

  • Yep, I think all of us are tired of rain . . . even though Orlando "needed" it.
  • LOL yeah...I think everyone is good with rain now!

  • Yeah I would appreciate that here in Seminole County.  I have minor flooding in my garage and my master bedroom.  The rain just doesnt have anywhere else to go.  My work also had some puddles of water on carpet from the horizontal rain on Thursday.  My office will smell like rotten towels on Monday when I return.  EWH.
  • Tell me about it.  Today we found one of our Hibiscus plants in our front yard partially up-rooted and laying on it's side.  I think all the rain washed away the soil and exposed the roots and it had nothing to support it to stay in the ground.   We tipped it back upright and we have it tied to something to make up stand up correctly.  We ran up to Lowe's tonight and bought some dirt/top soil and we're going to try to salvage it in the morning (too dark now).  I love that Hibiscus!!!

At least we don't have damage to our house like many people do.

  • Good thing about Hibiscus is they are pretty easy caring plants so HOPEFULLY you can save yours with what you bought at Lowes.  I thought I had lost my 4 Hibiscus after Charlie/Frances storms in 2004 becuase they all got so mangled, but they are still blooming better than ever.   Good luck with yours!
  • Oh wonderful!!!  That's great news!!   Big Smile   They are so beautiful, I'd hate to lose one!!  We put some dirt/top soil on it and then put mulch on top.  We'll see what happens.
  • The biggest problem with having rain like that is the humidity when it stops.  It feels so gross outside!
  • Ugh - the same thing happened to my hibiscus plants! They were all laying on the ground. We propped them back up, but I've already noticed yellow leaves this morning. Hopefully they'll survive :(

  • Our neighborhood is still under construction, so many of the trees are brand new and they all came out of the ground, just like the hibiscus. I felt really bad for the builder, since they came out and fixed them all, and then it rained all weekend so some just fell right back over! The ground is just so saturated.

Whately, I'm in Seminole County/Sanford too, I was wondering how you guys were doing. I'm glad to hear it's just minor (considering some people close to us are using canoes!).
