RP: Tips for a Housewarming Party

Originally posted on D&R:

We're having our Housewarming party on May 1.  (we built our house and moved in a couple weeks ago)  It'll be a 2:00-4:00 open house style - come and go as you please.  I'm going to serve finger foods/appetizers and drinks.

Does anybody have any fun tips or anything to make Housewarming Parties extra fun or special?  Or do you just have everybody over and give the tour?

Thanks!

  • You could have folks sign a big white ceramic platter or a wine bottle that you can display as a keepsake in your kitchen or dining room.

If you think people won't know each other, you could have fun name tags... depends on your crowd.

Maybe you can take photos with each guest and then create a collage to display somwhere in the house after the party.

For a nice touch, I would be sure to have nice soaps, candles and towels in the bathrooms.

And perhaps you could bake some cookies right before, a cookie smell in a house is always welcoming.

    HTH!
