Surprise Party...

I am looking to plan a surprise 30th birthday party for my husband...I have time but I just wanted to start peeking at some places.  Any suggestions??

 I am looking for a place with a great bar....casual....

My husband threw me a surprise 30th at Blue in Blue Point. It's on Montauk Highway at the end of Nicoll's Road. They had a pretty clever way of surprising you. I was under the impression we were having drinks with another couple and while sitting at the bar they opened the sliding doors behind us to the party room. I had no idea my friends and family were standing behind me until they yelled "suprise." And the food was great! Good luck!

Cabo in Rockville Centre.  They have a separate party room.  Their margaritas and sangria are great!

Shandon Court, East Islip....I ended up at 2 parties there this year, it was fantastic

I love Blue!  What a good idea! I hadn't thought of that one.  Did your party have a buffet or a sit down dinner?  Open bar or just wine and beer?  How many people did you have?

 

Sorry to stack my questions...but I would love some more info from someone who actually had a party there rather than their sales person.

I am so sorry! I never check this board because it always seems so slow. In your OP you said you have time. Not sure if the party alreaddy passed but thought I would still respond. We had a buffet and I think he did a cash bar since It was a lot of people that he knew wouldn't be drinking. We had about 40 people if I remember correctly. It was in the small room off the bar (not the actual dining room). We had enough room for the buffet, tables, DJ and dancing. I hope this is still helpful to you.
