I'm pretty excited to be posting for the first time here. I'm currently in Ohio, but my husband is being transferred to the local headquarters in Phoenix this Summer/Fall. We don't have an exact date as of right now, but it's a definite. I'm SO nervous about moving with 2 small babies, uprooting our lives, leaving our families, starting all over with my career and meeting new friends/learning the area. I'm probably going to ask y'all a million questions about pediatricians, family docs, dentists, schools, neighborhoods, shopping, activities, parks, good food and much more. If you don't mind?!
I'm so looking forward to chatting with all of you! Do you guys have regular gtg's? If so, I'm totally signing up for one, once we've officially moved in.

Welcome....almost!
Yes, we have regular GTG's...check out www.meetup.com/aznesties. This is how we work out our GTG's most of the time. They are really fun and the girls are great!
We moved here last year from Upstate NY and I was TERRIFIED!!! I have done so much better than I ever thought was possible. We LOVE it here. It's amazing. The weather, scenery (although I do miss the greeny from NY), the activities, etc. There is SO much to do all the time.
How old are your babies? We don't have those yet but I can only imagine how hard that has to be on your family to up and leave with kiddo's. At least they have a nice place to come visit! lol
And ask as many questions as you can. I wish this board was active before I moved because I would have done the same thing!!
Can't wait to meet my baby boy!
Welcome to the board! Do you have an idea of where in the valley you will be living in?
Welcome to the board (and almost to the state)! Where in Ohio do you live? I moved here from Ohio almost 6 years ago. I was born in Cleveland and raised mostly in Parma Hts. The move was originally supposed to be temporary for me (I had an internship that turned into a job), but I stayed and love it here. Definitely different from Ohio! The summers are hot, of course, but your family and friends back east will be jealous of you the rest of the year, when they're battling all that snow and you're sitting in 75 degree weather, watching spring training games.
DH and I are expecting our first baby in September, so as I find good recommendations for pediatricians and such, I'll be sure to pass them along. I don't really have any friends out here who are pregnant or have kids (other than the lovely ladies on this board), so I'm sort of figuring it all out as I go along.
I look forward to meeting you once you get out here!
I can't get over how nice you all are! I'm in Columbus, Ohio. My son just turned 2 and my daughter is 8 months old. We'll probably live in Phoenix to be close to DH's job (he'll be working 70+ hours a week for the first 4-5 months) and then we're going to look at Glendale. I would love to live in Scottsdale, but it's a 45 minute drive for my husband and with him working crazy hours we wouldn't get to see him as often. So most likely Glendale. I'd love to find a community that has a park, pool and other fun stuff to do, within walking distance. Definitely want to have weekly playdates for the babies and for some grown-up talk! We don't have any family out there, so it'll just be the 4 of us.
Seriously you all are fabulous! Thank you for such a warm welcome. I can't wait to get to know you all better. Would you be opposed to me posting a poll so I can get to know you?
I don't really know Glendale but I do know that it's up and coming and I don't think you will have any problem finding a nice community with a pool and park near by. There are some ladies that live out that way that I'm sure can give you some insight.
Of course you can post a poll!
Woo Hoo! I love polls. I interview a lot of people for fun, so I'll have to steal some questions that I usually ask them
I'd love to know the following:

Married, Engaged or Single?
Kids? If yes, first name and ages?

Do you have a blog? I am so guilty of blog-stalking, hehee

Hope those are good Q's....can't wait to hear your answers! My babies are just waking up from their naps, so off to make them lunch. I'll fill it out in just a little bit
Welcome to the board and soon to be to AZ!
We are new here as well. We moved here in July of last year from Massachuettes. We up-rooted our whole family for a promotion for my husband. It has been the best thing we've done so far. We have no famiy out here but I've met some really nice people so I'm happy.
Glendale is a good area. I am up the road in Surprise. The WV is very up and coming now and I dont think we'll be leaving anytime soon.
My BFF lives in Columbus- I'm going out there in May for the "Rock on the Range" concert My Hair Stylist is also from Columbus, she apprenticed at Kenneth's and is FABULOUS and she's in the Glendale area, so I'll totally recommend you if you need a stylist!
I grew up in Peoria, live in Laveen (South West Phoenix) now. LOVE the Glendale/Peoria area, just didn't work for my current commute to Scottsdale!
Welcome to the board!
welcome to the board and almost to the state
i moved here from Cali almost 4 years ago and i love it! can wait to meet you at a GTG
Hi! Welcome!
I also grew up in Glendale/Northwest Valley. LOVE that area! I live in Tucson now, but if we ever moved back to Phoenix, it's the one place I would want to live!
Welcome to the AZ board and I am excited to get to you know. Our company was temporarily based in Cleveland (2 years) so I have been to OH more times than I would have liked...luckily we moved the headquarters back here to Phoenix this past year. I also have a couple offices in Columbus so I was there several times getting them up and going.
I live in the East Valley and am born and raised in AZ. I am partial to the EV but have family on the westside as well.
Thank you so much I'm excited to get out of Ohio. It'll be a chance to really focus on my family. I was actually born in AZ but my parents moved back to Ohio when I was 2. Just recently I flew into the Phoenix airport on layover from my trip to Vegas so that was the first time I've been back to AZ since I was 2. I can't wait to get out there and take a look around. Everyone that has relocated there, especially from Ohio, tell me its the best decision they ever made and love it. I just can't wait to experience warm weather during an Ohio winter. Woo Hoo!
