There are only a couple of us on here, but I think we can have a decent discussion anyway!
Good things: Henry and Betty not coming back together, Betty getting a job offer to head another mag, Justin feeling comfortable with himself, Betty starting to realize she can stop worrying about her family and do what's best for her.
Bad things: the way Daniel was oogling Betty the entire episode, the writers trying to jam to much stuff into the last two episodes.
I have a feeling next week will be too busy with too many story lines. I'm hoping the writers did not end this with Daniel and Betty ending up together. Lastly, why didn't the writers say, "We're not ending this!" and try to sell themselves to another channel? NBC is hurting for a show with a built-in audience since the Leno catastrophe...c'est la vie, right?
Re: Ugly Betty
I agree that they are packing a lot in. Will next weeks show be 2 hours? It's a lot to cover with the shooting of Willamina by Daniel's long lost brother, Daniel admitting feelings for Betty (which will happen, but I think Betty will turn him down and take the job), some more of the Justin story line, and Amanda's dad showing up (the guy with the bird tattoo). whew! That is a lot to wrap up in a pretty little bow next week.
I just got back into the show this season, I stopped watching with the whole Alexis Meade story line. So, riddle me this Munkii...why does Henry have a kid? I remember Betty dating him, but there was also another guy. I was a little lost last night when he came back.
I agree with your observations, but I think I like the idea of Daniel and Betty getting together. I can't wait till next weeks show to see how they end it!
I wasn't sure if Mark discovering his date's secret is a good or bad thing because of how jam packed next week is already going to be.
Remember Charlie, the red-head who Henry dated from home? She showed up in NY one day to try to make things work with Henry. While she was dating him she was also cheating on him with Betty's orthodontist. Charlie ended up pg, and no one knew who the father was. So, Henry and Betty continued to date knowing that as soon as the baby was born, there would be a chance that Henry would leave Betty for Charlie. The baby was born, DNA test came back, Henry was declared the father, Henry moved back to NM or AZ or wherever with Charlie to raise their child.
That's why I was surprised Henry wasn't with Charlie when he showed up last night. Did you catch that if Henry took the job, Charlie was going to study at Parsons? If you didn't know who he was talking about, there's your answer.
This is my exact feeling. Juan has been bugging about how Betty and Daniel need to get together since that is how the Colombian novella ended and he really wants it to say true, but it is coming off as completely forced. With the shooting, Amanda's dad, and Justin coming out...I am scared for how much they are going to cram into next week!
I felt the Henry thing was unnecessary. I also don't think Justin would be that freaked out to come out to his mother. And I don't like that Mark is suddenly all "I have mommy issues, I want love." Bring back my snappy, bitchy gay please!
