Baconfest!
Baconfest Chicago is sold out. Like everyone else, bacon is pretty popular among our friends.
DH and I think it would be fun to have our own Baconfest at the house, and ask people to bring a bacon dish (I'd have prizes for best tasting, best presentation, and "most interesting" use of bacon).
Do you think this is crazy? What menu suggestions do you have for me? I'd like to have:
Regular, high quality bacon
Interesting bacon (per DH)
Stuff for BLTs
Chocolate chip pancakes
coffee, pop, juice, champagneZ
raw fruit and vegetables
chocolate bacon cupcakes
some sort of egg dish
some sort of potato
cheese and crackers

I don't have any suggestions, but I just wanted to say I showed this post to a friend at work and he was ALL about this party. Sounds fun.
Thanks ladies. I'll post my menu when it's final. DH thinks we don't need much bacon-related food, since we're asking guests to bring some.
However, I won't be able to resist maple bacon cupcakes, dark chocolate bacon cupcakes, and BLTs.
Now to get him to agree on the rest of the menu.

I know I'm a bit late but I just saw a show all about bacon yesterday, thought it was a bit weird but some things look yummy....especially the bourbon bacon apple tarts! Check it out
