  • it is chemicals you'd be better off adding compost to your plants.

    Ditto.

  • I like fish fertilizer better.  You can find it at any home and garden store.
  • It does work, but if you use it too much you do run the risk of burning the plants.
  • At the risk of possibly getting scorned by the organic gardeners, I will come out of hiding to answer - Yes. I do use Miracle Gro. I only use it on my flowers. I DO NOT use any chemicals whatsoever on veggies and fruits that I grow. Like the others, I use compost for my fruits and veggies.

Typically, I use the slow release pellets on my flower beds. As Pamela05 mentioned, don't use too much because you can burn the plants. Don't get overly happy with the stuff. I've had the same package of watering can singles for a year now. So, that gives you an idea of how little I use it.

Same here.  I use the MG potting and garden soils when I'm planting.  I use the slow release pellets (not necessarily MG) and/or compost on my established plants.  I've never used fertiizer for my veggies and stick with compost there.  People that I know that use it on tomatoes seem to have problems with blossom end rot.
