Potting an indoor plant - hole in the pot?

My boss has a peace lily that needs to be re-potted (it's in the container it originally came in).  I bought a new pot and it has a stopper in the bottom.  Should I take that out so the water can drain?  TIA for any help.

  • yes.   and put some gravel in the bottom to help drainage.

  • Thank you!  I feel like a doofus answering.  I'm the one that takes care of the plant, that's why I'm re-potting it.  Someone gave it to her back in October, when her son passed away.  His birthday is next Friday and it's starting to get a flower.  Very neat.
