Purchase on Amazon.com or RitzCamera.com?

Considering the camera I'd like to buy costs the same at either site. Which site would you recommend I purchase it from?

Why?

Nutmeg, cilantro, sage, mint, thyme... these are a few of my favorite things! Visit The Nest!Visit The Nest! We have four children; one left us too soon.

Re: Purchase on Amazon.com or RitzCamera.com?

  • Shipping free on both? I'd go with Amazon, just because I have an account already.  Though I recently purchased my lense and memory card from abesofmaine, check out the site for price compare.

  • When I purchased my camera from Ritz online, they threw in camera classes for free.  I've found them very helpful and had no trouble with the shipping.

  • I got everything from Amazon (camera, lens, camcorder, bag). If it comes direct from Amazon, returns are a breeze, especially if damaged. If you want an extended warranty, go through SquareTrade.

  • I hate Ritz, so personally I'd avoid them, even if they were a bit cheaper. ;)

I'd also have to pay sales tax on a Ritz purchase, and would not, with Amazon (plus I'd throw it on my Amazon card and earn triple points on it)- so, it's an easy choice for me.

  • I recently purchased from Abes of Maine online and their prices were the cheapest. Actually I purchased a package and got a really great deal with all the accessories.

I also purchased some lenses but they didn't work.  I called customer service and while the hold time was a little long, they did try to help, sent an additional part.  Finally I ended up returning the lenses after the 30 days and received a full refund.  All in all I was very happy with their service and would use them again.

Otherwise, Id go with Amazon.  I've just had such great luck with them and I like their business model.  I've never used Ritz but I believe that is who my FIL purchase his camera and took classes.
