Bee issue-need help

Ok. I am terrified of most bugs. Especially bees. Of any kind. Even the giant fuzzy ones that supposedly don't sting. Well over the past couple of days, every time I go in the basement I find one of the giant fuzzy bees crawling around. Now I absolutely refuze to go down there. I'm making DH do the laundry. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them? I don't know how they're getting in & DH is going to check for a nest. But I was just curious if anyone had any info on these. Thanks!

  • Call an exterminator and see if they can help you find out how they're getting in.

  • Do you have a chimney or a vent or a duct of some type on the roof? A dime says they have set up their hive in there. I had foraging bees in my chimney a very long time ago --- maybe you can also call a beekeeper to put a hive box where they're nesting and hopefully they'll take up residence in there.:) After that, he can take the nest box away.:)
  • Don't call an exterminator, call a bee keeper. Bees are good insects and on the decline so you don't want them killed, just moved.

  • Why would you exterminate if your DH is doing the laundry?  I say move those bad boys into the dishwasher too!
