bare essentials for composting
We don't have a garden so I would want to compost to basically not throw out the food in the trash or in the garbage disposal. Problem is I really don't know where to start. All the talk about worms, etc. just scares me! I just need the bare minimum. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Re: bare essentials for composting
I haven't started mine yet, but am going to soon. Here's a few links I've come across so far, maybe they'll help!

This is a good website. Gardener's Supply is a great resource, and I've been very happy with their products.
I'll also add that I've been able to get rid of a lot of compost (after it's broken down) on Freecycle. I have a tiny yard so my bin in the back produces more than I can use. I just put it in buckets and have someone come take it and return the buckets. Gardeners in my area have jumped all over my free dirt.
