July 4th

Does anyone have any plans or ideas for that red, white and blue day?

Re: July 4th

  • Either working a double shift (which means I get paid holiday pay to take kids to see fireworks) or hanging out with DH and watching fireworks.. not sure which yet.

  • every summer my sisters, cousins, aunts uncles and parents pitch in yardsale stuff, we have a big sale and the proceeds go towards fireworks that my dad, cousin and uncle put off in a huge way. they usually buy several hundred dollars worth and the show lasts like an hour, they built a multi level shelf thing to hold like 5 fireworks at a time. its a huge block party.

  • I'm debating between two races and then a beach day in which ever city that race takes place in.  Although, recently the idea of heading to Boston for that weekend has been thrown around.

  • Uh, staying home and working.  Normally on call that day and I can't leave my poor dog, she nearly has a heart attack with the noise.

  • big annual BBQ/pool party at my parents house....lots of good food, family & friends   =)

  • I don't know my plans yet, but I will probably make cupcakes again that look like hamburgers. I got the idea from bakerella.
  • We've invited our families down to celebrate together. Since we've moved away (over 9 hours and we're the only ones to have left our hometown area), we don't get to see each other all that often. We definitely have the better July 4th weather, so we decided to host it. We're going to have a huge bbq, go to the pool, and set off lots and lots of fireworks that evening. We may even head to the theme park near by the day after.
  • I may try to convince my hubby to fly up to PDX (like that'd be hard lol he loves it up there) to watch the fireworks display at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site (assuming they didn't cancel it again... I probably should look into that).

  • Hopefully our 2nd annual party :) last year it included a slip in slide, water guns, lots of good food, alcohol, and great friends.
  • This is my son's birthday month so I hope that we can get to the beach. He is so excited.

  • Every year SIL has a bbq on the 4th. My mother will probably also have a bbq. I love this holiday. You get to eat and watch fireworks:)
  • BF's mom's b-day is June 26th (also we'll have been dating a year on that day). My mom's b-day is July 2nd. BF's dad's b-day is July 10th...lots of celebrating! His parents have a cottage next to his house, so I think we'll see if we can get both our families over to celebrate and finally meet for the first time. If that doesn't happen, we'll be on the boat and watching fireworks (boat isn't big enough for everyone). We're really excited. Last year we had just started dating and they were celebrating his mom's b-day at his house on the July 4th weekend. And we had a huge family reunion style party for my mom, so we not together on the 4th last year. This is going to be so much fun!!!

  • wow, you people are planners! I haven't thought that far ahead, but usually the 4th means an extra day off work, backyard bbq, good friends, and swimming. Love summer!
