  • We bought my car this weekend!  It's a 95 camry, in really good condition.  Nice and cheap Wink - now I just have to go to the RMV (oh joy!) to register it, and we'll pick it up one night this week.  I'm so relieved that we found something quickly!

Also, this Friday is my last day at my desk job!

  • So I know I'm supposed to be MIA but I'm on hold (on the phone) as usual so....

This weeked I attend the first ever Upstate New York Nestie GTG.  Five of us from Albany drove up to Syracuse to meet with 7 other Nesties from Syracuse, Buffalo, Rochester, Etc.  We had a lovely lunch and then went on a boat cruise on one of the finger lakes.  I must say that all of the Nesties were very sweet and it was as entertaining as always to put 'voices' to names.

  • We spent most of the weekend moving and packing Smile always a good time.

Nik got a new job on friday so we will be saving lots of money and hopefully buy a house in the next two years.

Went to a babyshower filled with 6 week old baby boys (I offered to take one but everyone declined lol)

My donor changed his mind this weekend, so off to look into more options again.

  • My parents came and we got TONS done on the house -- new electric on the porch (there was none) incl a ceiling fan and two outlets, and some other stuff. That was the whole weekend.

Otherwise, I need to start tieing up wedding ends and start working...I have so much work to do. I kind of hate my job. Except for the tuition remission part.

  • yay for the new car! it must be a big relief to have that task completed :)

this weekend was our psuedo bachelorette party...we went up to northampton (where we ran into meg and mo - remember them?) with a couple friends and did dinner/drinks/club.  It was eh.  I feel like such a spoiled brat saying it, but I was pretty dissapointed in my MoH.  She left planning the party to the last minute and it ended up that A and I planned it all, no one could really go due to last-minute notice, and MoH herself only stopped in for a little over an hour.  i'm pretty bummed about it. Totally silly in the grand scheme of things (i completely realize), but i just needed to vent.

I'm working every day but friday this week! yeah, i'm crazy....but pretty much everything is done and I needed to same my time off for the HM :)

  • I am posting from my teacher desk at school!  Yuck!  People are starting to trickle in so it is good to see my friends again.

I will be in tomorrow afternoon but other than that I am working (nanny) for the rest of the week so I will not be working in school.

Our weekend was fun.  Sat we drove to the lake and it was a fab. day.  Sunny and bright.  We went kayaking and hung out on the deck with Ss mom and a few of bils friends.  The highlight was that I took Darwin (the dog) with me  on the kayak and he actually liked it!  We went home Sat night since the house was full and we would have had to sleep on the pull out in the downstairs den (which is not all that comfy)

Sun  we went to the mall and shopped for back to school clothes!  it was fun and I got some cool stuff.  Now it seems real that I have to work next week!   I was just thinking Brit that we will have the sme work schedule!  FYI we have the Jewish holidays off so October and november have tons of days off!  You get to have the great teacher schedule without the crappy papers to correct!  I am jealous

  • It was a typical weekend in our house: errands, playground time, naps (including one of the kids escaping out of his crib for the first time. :(, cleaning the house, swimming class, toddler haircuts, more playground time, ice cream, watching Nip/Tuck from Netflix, gives kids multiple baths each day(they get so stinky when it is hot out!), and crashing at the end of each day.

  • my weekend was pretty good, but i'm really tired today because i was up until almost 2am doing homework. ugh. anyway, friday night we went to game night at a friend's place. we had a great time, although it was such a long week and i was so tired that i fell asleep on her recliner. Embarrassed

saturday i took a math exam, and then we went to another friend's for her birthday. c left there to go to work and i went to a drag show with my sister's new girlfriend (my sis was the stage manager). we stayed out late and...well, i had a lot to drink. i sent c all kinds of weird text messages and i'm sure i was running around telling everyone that i love them. my sister even convinced me to sing karaoke with her.

sunday i slept in until around noon, and we went to the hardware store and worked on the bathroom some. i should get some pictures up of our progress...

  • Sam - I didn't realize jewish holidays were included - that's fantastic!  C and I were just saying we should get together again some time.  I'll email you soon :-)

Elise - I'm sorry to hear about your bach party!  I know too that in the grand scheme it's not the end of the world, but it's a real bummer when friends don't come through as you hoped they would.  I was let down by a close friend on another WR issue, and it still hurts to think about it.  Well, Monday's almost gone - so just 3 more days of work for you, bridey!!!

  • Weekend was nice, I went up to NYC to visit my brother, and my sister, who is visiting him from Oregon. I'm two weeks into my vegan/raw month and it was fun to go to an actual raw restaurant and have something to eat besides salad, and also to get some yummy raw treats. I had a chocolate/caramel bar that did not taste raw at all. Just delicious. We spent a lot of time working on crossword puzzles together and walking around the neighborhood. Very relaxed.

On another note, I threw my first bachelorette party last weekend and I really hope she wasn't disappointed :( It was small and I think everyone had a good time but the whole time I was worried that it was not enough b/c we really just bought tickets to a thing we knew she'd like and took her out before and afterward. I guess I'll never know ~

  • leap - dont be worried at all, that sounds like a wonderful bach party! small and no fuss is totally my style. the main dissapointments about mine were 1) i planned it all, including responsible for doing the inviting which made me feel very rude and agaisnt etiquette 2) My MoH (best friend) only stayed for a hour-ish.

Just the fact that you cared enough to be worried about if she was having a good time tells me that you did a wonderful job :)
