XP: Curtain Clips?

Has anyone used curtain clips?

image

I'm attempting (again) to redecorate my office inexpensively. I have a very specific fabric and "look" I want for the curtain fabric, and you know that means I can't find it anywhere!

I've made tap-top curtains before and aside from not really liking how they turned out, they were a PITA ... my sewing skills are very basic Wink

SO ... now I've got this idea to buy the fabric, make basic curtain panels, and hang them on the rod with curtain clips.

Then in my head .... my curtains are falling down all the time and I spend twice as much time cursing curtain clips as I would have spent cursing while making tap top curtains.

Has anyone used them before? Did they actually hold up your curtains?

TIA!

Re: XP: Curtain Clips?

  • i used them on our shower curtain.  i have a clear liner hung on a shower curtain rod for actual bathing, and in front of that, on a fancy shower curtain rod, i have a fabric shower curtain that i made.  i used the clips to put it on the rod, and it's never fallen down or come unclipped.

have you tried looking at hobby lobby or michael's (for the clips; or maybe you meant the fabric...)?

  • I have them in my kitchen and they have never fallen. Those suckers are pretty sturdy.

  • I have clips holding up very heavy, lined blackout drapes.  Never had a problem.  They look flimsy, but they hold!
  • We have them in DD's room. I like the look and they've never fallen.

  • I have had them with very heavy curtains with blackout lining and they never fell off the clips.
  • I have them holding up my current living room curtains. I have a heavy material too and my drapes have never fallen.
  • we have them in our living room. 7 panels in all and they've never fallen or anything. they work great! (we got ours at Target)
  • Wow!! This is totally not the response I expected, and it's a good one! Whew! I can easily sew a rectangular curtain panel. Curtain clips, here I come!

And yah, I can find all kinds of curtain clips, it's the fabric I'm searching for. So far I've only looked online. Now that I know I can do it with curtain clips, I'll be shopping in Austin today!

    Thanks, y'all!

  • Have you been to Fabric's Interior on Burnet & Anderson? Their selection and prices are the best in town.

Thank you!! This is the place my aunt told me about, but I couldn't remember the name. I'm going to be in north Austin tonight anyways - I'm swinging by here for sure!
