Boston Bachelorette Day Ideas

hi all... I haven't really been on in a while.  I wish it was married life that has taken my attention, but unfortunately, it's work... gotta pay those bills.

Anyway... I was wondering if any of you would have some good ideas of things to do in Boston for my sister's bachelorette day.

A little background:  It'll be on a Saturday in a couple weeks.  We are going to a Sox game at night (she's a huge Sox fan, like me)... There are only 6 of us going, including her and me... She lives in upstate NY, and she's coming with her FSIL and a friend... and then our SIL from our side who lives here.

But what to do before the 7:30 game?

I thought of going out for lunch at a seafood restaurant (but where?) since she loves seafood and doesn't get a lot of good seafood in NY.

She loves martinis... know of any good places in the afternoon?

What other afternoon things should we do?

I thought of bowling, but that's out since the last time she went, she fell and blew out her knee (DOH!)

I know we are going to go to a Mexican bar across from Fenway for a margarita and guacamole before the game...

But what would be fun to do in the afternoon in between lunch and the game?

PS... she said nothing raunchy... she's totally fun (we went to a Greek restaurant this weekend and they had belly dancing and she was right up there getting a lesson, which was a total riot!)... so, fun, not stereotypical bachelorette raunchy

TIA!

Re: Boston Bachelorette Day Ideas

  • Are you going to La Verdad?? That's where I went for my bachelorette party. :-)

And for great martini's (and drinks in general) before the game, I would highly recommend Eastern Standard in the Commonwealth Hotel.

    Have fun!

  • I second Eastern Standard.  From what I remember, they have a good selection of seafood as well.  There's an outdoor patio if it's warm enough.  B and G Oysters in the South End and the Atlantic Fish Co are other good seafood options
  • Sounds like a great day!  I don't have any good restaurant recs, but for in between lunch and dinner, maybe you could do some shopping on Newbury Street, or get your nails done at a salon?  I've also heard good things about the purse designing parties at 1154 Lill.
  • You could do a tour at Fenway.

  • Good suggestions!

Stephanie's on Newbury has good martinis. Does she know Boston at all? You could do a "scavenger hunt" for martinis by giving her clues and she has to figure out where you are all going next.

Is Jake Ivory's still closed? I had heard a while ago they were back open. I always had a good time there.
