Forsythia

I'm in zone 5b.  I have a Forsythia tree/shrub in our yard.  We've experienced kind of an odd spring--near 80 one day, down to 40 the next.  A bit of a rollercoaster.  The yellow buds started on a couple of the branches and now it just seems the other branches have decided to skip flowering and go straight to leaves.  Is this unusual or simply a function of some strange weather?

Re: Forsythia

  • Mine did the exact same thing. I got them b/c I love the yellow flowers on them and they only stayed that way for about a week.  I just got mine last year.
