Dry Cleaning ?

So, I could have killed my dog last week.  He went pee on our bed, on the duvet.  So, I take it all down to the laundry room only to find out that both the duvet and duvet cover are dry clean only.  Sad

I don't get things dry cleaned often, I actually avoid purchasing dry clean only clothing, and if I do I tend to wash it anyway.  But, I really like my duvet and duvet cover and do not want to risk ruining either.

So, my question is... does anyone know how much I should expect to pay for these?  (When dry cleaning i've only ever had dresses and shirts)

Also, should I take is somewhere special or are the dry cleaners in the grocery stores (spotless?) good?

Re: Dry Cleaning ?

  • What type of duvet do you have? Ours is duck or goose feather (can't remember which) and I just through it in our washer/dryer. It comes out all fluffy and lovely.
  • My old duvet needed to be dry cleaned, and I paid about $40 to have it done.  I wash my new one from Ikea in the washer and dry it in the dryer.

Ours is not feather or down, I'm allergic, so it's some sort of fake pseudo down material.

  • I've had our done before b/c the cat pee'ed on it once.  It cost me $45 to get it done.
