What do you think about.. (Kleenex paper hand towels)

I just saw a commercial for Kleenex paper hand towels.  They come in a big box and it serves as a dispenser in the bathroom.  You can see the info on Kleenex.com

I have like a dozen hand towels, so even when we have guests, a party, or we are sick, I don't think it's a huge hassle to wash hand towels!  We have 2.5 bathrooms and I it's not like I think I would ever prefer paper.

I'm sure there are extenuating circumstances (like immune issues or whatnot), but for the "average" person, seems a bit wasteful?

Rolled my eyes when I saw the commercial.  Such a waste.

It was my "Whine Wednesday" post from last week.    They make me mad.  Because apparently it's too hard to wash your own towels now more than once a year or something, based on the appearance of the towels in the ad I saw.

This got the big from me as well.  I haven't seen the commercials, thank god for TiVo.  It just boggles my mind that everything should be disposable for "safety's sake."  And doctors wonder why more and more people come to their office for simple things like the flu.  It's because no one has immunity to anything anymore, we've all living in our own little bubbles of disposable towels, tissues, utensils, plates, and food.  God forbid you touch something that *gasp* some one else touched!

I saw the commercial last night. I was pretty disgusted with it. Especially considering how Kimberly Clark was supposed to be changing their policies to become more EF. Yah....that's what I get for believing big business gives a rats patooty about anything except making a buck.

I was just about to post something about this! I think its ridiculous. People usually use hand towels after washing their hands, implying that they're clean. When I wipe my dirty hands on a towel, it goes into the wash, it doesn't keep getting used like they're implying.

Wow that is crazy!  My aunt does a really cool thing.  She takes washclothes and cuts them in half and sews one end.  She has a stack full in the bathroom so guest can take one and wipe their hands and has a basket to toss them in.  I thought that was a great idea during the flu season!

this is a cool idea.

i got pissed when i saw that commercial too...i don't understand how disposable hand towels could possibly be necessary.

Same here. Then I complained to my husband about it. I just saw this commercial this morning. I figured it would be discussed on this board!

I've seen a few businesses offer washcloths instead of papertowels. A couple of salons & a bridal boutique.

I think the Kleenex paper towels are a complete waste. Sadly there will be consumers that love them.
