If I am buying bagged manure from a garden store - is it too late to add to my garden for Spring planting? I have read the manure needs to cure, but I would assume that applies to "fresh from the farm manure", not bagged "commercial" manure? I'm zone 4, if that makes a difference.
I'm finding mixed answers on google. Thanks for your help ladies!
Re: manure question
In all likelihood, that stuff is ready to go. If you're a bit uncertain, you may want to ask their staff.
I've purchased manure from HD that was clearly already "cured".
You wouldn't want to put down fresh manure right now since it would basically burn your plants.
Any compost material should not smell like manure if it's been fully composted.
