I'm looking for book suggestions! I'll read just about anything since I recently discovered my taste in books is always changing.
So what are you ladies all reading right now? What are some books you would recommend that you've read already?
Re: What's everyone reading?
Right now I am reading The 5th Horseman by James Patterson.
I read She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb a few years ago and really loved it. I pretty much recommend that book to all different types of people and everyone seems to love it.
I'm on an educational reading kick until the babe arrives. I have 6 books on childbirth (including the one I'm currently reading) and 3 on newborns that I need to get through before the baby gets here. I can't wait to get back for recreational reading!
My favorites are Jodi Piccoult, James Patterson and Nicholas Sparks.
The Soloist by Steve Lopez.
This is the book that the recent movie with Jamie Foxx is based on. I never saw the movie and had no desire to see the movie so when my friend said I had to borrow it from her I was very weary. But was I wrong, I am really, really liking it!
I'm reading Wicked. It is kind of strange and I'm having a hard time getting into it... but I am determined. lol...
I could use some good suggestions too...
DH read Wicked & saw the musical (I know, I know) and he said the book isn't like the musical at all. I was wanting to read the book and he said he didn't know if I would like the book since I loved the musical.
Right now I'm reading Emma by Jane Austen, but it's not one of my favorites.
My favorite books are anything by Amy Tan (saving fish from drowning and a hundred secret senses are great!!), Dracula by Bram Stoker, and the poisonwood bible by Barbara Kingsolver.

I love Jane Austen! I own and have read all of her books. Emma was the second one I tried, and it was tough. It took me a year of on and off reading before I finished it, but I was proud of myself when I did.
Right now I'm on the third book of the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. I think it's called Voyager. The series is a combo of historical fiction, better than average trashy romance, and time travel, lol. Sounds totally random, but I'm kind of addicted.
I tried reading Wicked after I saw the musical and it was sooo hard to get through. I don't think I made it past 50 pages.
I am reading Moby D!ck (sorry I don't know if the nest will allow me to use that word)
One of my favorite books is Shaman, Sage, Healer by Alberto Villoldo It is definetely off the beaten path for most people but the book really resonates with me
I read that! It's based on the whole Belle de jour series..
I am currently reading back to back, me! Eloise! Books with my dd.
I just ordered her a bunch and she is loving them. I see a trip to NYC and a stay at the Plaza in our future!
Love Jane Austen!!
I also really enjoyed the Outlander series. When my MIL told me about them I was not interested at all but I was bored at her house and picked up the first one and I loved it. I have read them all twice now and even got my mom to read them.
My favorite authors are Jennifer Cruise and Iris Johanson. I will read anything that they write. Jennifer Cruises book make me laugh out loud but warning they can be VERY trashy romance in places but I don't think of them are a typical romance and I love them.
I had a hard time getting into Wicked when I was reading it, but kept reading it and then really started enjoying it.
I just finished reading Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier. I wasn't sure I would like it but I really did. Now, I 'm reading Pride and Pejudice by Jane Austen. I'm doing several reading challenges this year to read books I normally may not have chosen.
