ideas for affordable (i.e CHEAP) places for baby shower.
any ideas? ? approx 30 people (couples), light hords which we are willing to make ourselves.?

Does somebody have a clubhouse you could rent. My condo has a very nice clubhouse that gets rented out frequently . . . and has long as you leave the place clean, you get your deposit back. (So it's free!)
I also rented out my clubhouse when I lived an in apartment -- it was even nicer and bigger!
Just an idea.
I actually thought of that last night and called a friend who lives in Baldwin Park. She is checking on her place but apparently it books up pretty fast. I don't know of anyone else in apts or condos though. Most of our little group are home owners.
I agree Steph. The cheapest way to do it is at someones house. Neighborhood clubhouses are good but from past experiances I still think it is easier at a house.

I don't know how close you are to Baldwin Park but my girls threw me a bridal shower at Enders Park at Baldwin Park. It is very beautiful and perfect size for a shower.

Or you can look into a pavillion at a park but then you won't have rain back up

Hey ladies,
Thanks for the ideas so far. We are trying to rule out a house because that is mostly where our "group" spends all our time. We don't go out, instead stay in a our homes and have games nights or pot lucks or what not. So when occasions like this come around we try to go somewhere.
Right now it looks like the place at Baldwin Park is going to work out for us, however, if you have any other ideas please pass them on.
