Coffee grounds?

I have heard that coffee grounds can be good for gardening soil. Has anyone done this? Have good luck?

Re: Coffee grounds?

  • i put them in my compost.  you can also top dress plants that like acidic soil with (used) coffee grounds.
  • I put some in my house plants once and it collected fruit flies. So I might not unless they were part of compost.

This happened to me and it was horrible!  Now I just dump them into the compost bin.

I've heard that Azaleas love acidic soil so coffee grounds give them an awesome boost.
