Marathon Monday

DH and I decided to go into Boston to watch the Marathon on Monday.  We've never done it before.  Does anyone have recommendations for where to go?  We'll be taking the T.

Re: Marathon Monday

  • I think the T stop at Copley will be shut down because that's where the race ends. If you can, maybe take the Orange Line to Back Bay? That will get you closer. I heard the weather is going to be kinda bad; don't know if you'd want to walk from Kenmore. Which direction are you coming from?
  • We're coming from the North.  The finish line area is probably super crowded, right?  I was thinking we'd have to take the green line out further down Boylston or into Brookline.

  • If you're coming from the North you can probably get off at Park St and walk across the Common to the finish line. Hopefully the weather will hold out. :-)
  • We were near Heartbreak Hill last year (Newton/Chestnut Hill), it was a lot of fun and very "spirited".  Its where a lot of the Boston College students are so there's a bit of drunken rowdiness, but we were more humored by it than annoyed.
