i won't be able to make it to a gtg this weekend. next weekend would be better. let me know which weekend is decided.
on another note, i got an email from my brother today! so happy to hear from him. he's not able to mail out letters from the FOB he's at. 
they've also been extended a month. first time it's ever happened to them. we hope he's home in time for christmas.

princesskl- Next weekend would be just fine for me. I have a lot of things to keep me occupied this weekend, anyway, so I don't mind at all. Hopefully Just_Ali can still make it. What day would you prefer? Saturday or Sunday? Either would be fine for me.
I'm really glad to hear you heard from your brother! It's always great to get updates, although it's too bad they've decided to extend him. Unfortunately, it does happen fairly often. My husband is doing well, although he's working long hours and involved in a lot of manual labor. Fortunately he's been going to the gym frequently and feels good about the fact that he'll be in optimal shape soon.
It's definitely helping that I'm keeping busy. I'm now studying for my insurance license in addition to work, school, and (hopefully I'll start soon) volunteering. I've also started a few projects around the house, which is helping to pass the time.

saturday would be better for my schedule. sundays can get pretty busy for us. we grocery shop (3 different ones just to get what we want), cali goes to the dog park & she starts puppy preschool on the 7th! yeah! are we talking the 6th/7th weekend right? if not, let me know. i so need to get a pocket calander or just buy a new phone!

Thanks! Mars' favorite part of the house is that fake plant I put next to the TV to hide the cords. It's so funny to see him go crazy over it.
The weekend of the 6th/7th is perfect. I drive a friend to a surgical appointment on Saturday morning and I'm not sure how long it will take, but we can get together in the afternoon or early evening if that would work for you. You need a calendar! Put that on your shopping list for Sunday. I write my whole life in mine and it's been a savior more times than I can count.
I looked up the watch you mentioned and my first thought was it might be sold on Camp Pendleton at the exchange, so I could take a look tomorrow and let you know if I spot one. Hopefully it's sold there because I can't think of an alternative.
