I am at a loss on what to do. We ripped it all out but now I have No idea what to put back. The area right in front of the pond is a clayish soil. I really don't want to block the pond with anything. I am also at a loss to do with the little area that goes in a tad right in front of our porch. Any ideas would be so great!
We are on a budget, so budget friendly ideas would be awesome! right around and back to the wall of the pond we want to do rock. On the side of the house I am doing pink and white azaleas and farther down the front I want to rose bushes.

Re: Need Help/Ideas
It's going to be hard to not block the pond since it's in the ground and not raised up.
How much sun? Hostas come to mind if this gets a half day of sun or less - they're short, cheap (you can probably get divided ones from friends & neighbors for free) and do their thing every year without any effort from you. An evergreen juniper carpet type thing would work year-round.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
Are you committed to keeping the pond where it is? If not, I might be inclined to move it to the right side of your window and more forward. I would then fill in behind along your house with something with a little height (but lower than your window...hydrangeas?] and perhaps a small decorative tree where the pond is now.
I also like the idea of hostas in the foreground and around your pond and fill in with some annuals for colour. These are cheap and easy to split and transplant from friends.
Good luck! Post your "after" photos too!
ETA - decorative rock around your pond would be nice too. I'd also be tempted to improve your soil a bit too.
