Re: XP from the Pets Board, any animal rescue ppl here? Help needed in SA.
That is so sad.
My mom has some contacts with various rescue groups, but I'm not sure if she has ever worked with a pit rescue group. She mainly does work for GRR (gold ribbon rescue for golden retrievers), but I will ask if she knows anyone you could contact.
There are 2 no-kill shelters in SA that I know of. The first is Animal Defense League: http://www.adltexas.org/ I've visited a few times when looking for a dog to adopt, and they seem to take pretty good care of the dogs there.
The other is called Animal Friends: http://animalfriendsforever.org/ My mom used to volunteer at their old location. It was kind of a mess then, but I'm hoping the new location is better.
I know finding a home would be the best option, but in case you can't find anyone and just need a place for the dog to go, these are at least options where the dog wouldn't be put down.
