Weekend plans?

So what is going on this weekend?

For me, my sister is getting married Saturday, and it is DH & I's one year anniversary on Sunday!!  (I honestly can't believe it has been a year!  One part of me feels like I was in Hawaii 10 years ago & another part feels like it was last weekend!)

The wedding will, of course, take up most of the weekend, but hopefully on Sunday, we will be able to do a little something special.

Re: Weekend plans?

  • Happy Anniversary!

We are probably just resting as much as possible - we took LO on a long road trip last weekend to see the grandparents.  I'm still recovering!  I know DH has a lot of school work to get done, and I want to try to straighten up the house a bit!

  • I *think* (lord, I hope) we are getting a couch delivered tomorrow.  After more than 4 weeks without one.  That will surely be the highlight of the weekend.

Of course, there is walking involved to head into the home stretch of training for my Avon Walk.  Then fun stuff - a Pampered Chef party tonight, coffee with a friend on Sunday morning, another Pampered Chef party on Sunday (sheesh....but they all booked from my fundraising party so I'll go and be supportive and drink wine), and giving a girlfriend a golf lesson at the driving range.  And, loads of planning - read: shopping - for my new salon.

  • We have Ellie's Fun Fair at her school tonight.  Lots of carnival games, henna painting, petting zoo, prizes, etc.  Each classroom makes a gift basket for a silent auction with a different theme.  I spent $145 last year winning the "Night on the Town" basket and it was SO worth it!  It had about $350 worth of gift cards/gas cards/theater tickets, etc.plus a hotel night on top of all that!  SO worth it so I hope to bid and win on that again!

Saturday is Ellie's birthday party.  Taking 3 girls to a hairstyling college for updos, light makeup and nail polish.  Off to smoothies/ice cream, playtime, local live music place at night and then a sleepover!  Whew.  Hopefully a day of rest on Sunday!

She wanted walking tacos for supper so that will be easy!  Does everyone here know what those are or is a regional item?

  • I'm being super lame this weekend and trying to get over this stupid cold/flu that I've had for the past week. It's really kicking my butt!
  • we are trying to get all our little projects complete at the farm and at home before Mason gets here, so MH and the kids will be working on that stuff today and saturday.  Then Sunday it is to my parents to eat lunch then me and mom will be going to my first baby shower.  And the boys will stay behind to work on cleaning out my parents attic.   Then sometime in there find time to do laundary so that we can start packing for our costa rica trip next weekend.  Wow that makes me tired just reading that.
  • We are heading to the other side of the state to visit my sister at college.  It's family weekend and she wanted to show off her new nephew.  I guess the only activity she signed us up for is lunch at her sorority, I think DH will use that time to go golfing.

I guess "packing light" kind of goes out the window with a baby.  Usually I would take a small backpack, but I have given up and just started throwing things in a small suitcase (which makes everything more organized anyways), especially since we will still use cloth diapers for the whole weekend.

  • My life revolves around soccer.  This weekend, my son has a soccer game Saturday, we are going to the LA Galaxy game Saturday night (well, we have to be there at 5pm, game doesn't start until 730pm) and my son has another game on Sunday. Maybe I will have time to go to the grocery store and Target if I'm lucky. I need to fit some house cleaning in there too.  See how exciting my life is?  Anyone jealous??

I've never heard of walking tacos, but I love tacos so I am definitely interested in hearing more about this walking variety!

  • happy anniversary!

DH invited a couple over tonight, it will be my first time entertaining since A was born.  it's kind of stressful trying to get everything ready while taking care of her during the day.  then i am working tomorrow...and we have church Sun morning... it will be nice though b/c tomorrow is DH's first day off since April 1st so we'll get some family time after I work a half day. if the weather is nice, we'd like to go out to a park or something w/her.

  • Getting my hair cut and highlighted tomorrow and then unfortunately I will probably end up working this weekend. Dh has to work all weekend.
  • I've had quite the week at work (finished my spring chorus concert), so I'd really love to relax and unwind.  Unfortunately, I also have to work tomorrow.  It's the district's solo/ensemble contest, and I have to work from 8:30-3:30....boo!  It's easy work, though, and I get to hang out with some colleagues that I like, so it's not sooooo horrible!  Then on Sunday I plan to completely relax while MH has to work.

  • Saturday we have Alexa's FIRST swimming class! Very excited. Need to decide which of her adorable swim suits she will wear!

Sunday we have a brunch with the other babies & families in my mom's group. Should be fun! Then I am leaving Alexa with DH on Sunday evening to go out to dinner for a friend's birthday.

  • TGIF, hurray!  Happy Anniversary and congrats to your sister!!

DH and I are spending this weekend in our respective countries, so I'm going to make "clean" soups and stuff to freeze to take to lunch over the next few weeks.  I'm also going to work on making a necklace and maybe some earrings.

I also need to do a round 2 purge of old clothes and stuff.  I do anticipate moving to the US in the next few months (fingers crossed!) so figured I should get rid of stuff in stages.
