Container Perennials

I'm a novice when it comes to flowers.  I bought a clematis and have a hydrangea in huge pots.  What other perennials do well in pots?  I'm in zone 6 and we have full to partial sun, little to no shade.

Re: Container Perennials

  • Sedum does really well.   You don't have to bring it in, dig it up, cover it, or anything for winter.  I leave my sedum pots exposed to the elements and they always cpme back.  I'm in Zone 5b.

They also like it dry, so you don't have to water.  Whatever they get when it rains is plenty.

  • I've got dwarf salvia in a planting box.  It's done really well and we're zone 5.  I don't move it or cover it in the winter.

In fact, this year I have two babies off of it!  I'm actually worried it's going to be crowded in there.
