Moms: Recommend 1-yr old gifts
I have to send a gift to my friends son ( born on the same day as Brendan. For some reason I can't think of what to get...I do have one idea..but I want more. I am not looking to buy clothes or books. Thanks in advance!
Re: Moms: Recommend 1-yr old gifts
I know you said no to books, but Gabby got a subscription to Baby Bug magazine for her 1st birthday and she LOVES it! It didn't matter much at first, but after a few months, she started getting so excited to be getting mail with her name on it - LOL! "My BABY BUG book is here!!!" The stories are short, but cute and well illustrated.

We love blocks (peek-a-blocks, mega blocks, duplex), balls (roll-a-rounds, baseballs, big bouncy balls), cars, pushing/walking or ride on toys, bead mazes (like in Dr's waiting rooms), puzzles, bubbles, music (piano, guitar, CDs of kids songs), Little People.
I know you said no books, but I always give books (I'm the daugther of a librarian) & love books w/ matching puppets.
I thought of some more things this morning.
O got all of these for his b'day & they are big hits:

He's also into Magna doodle, cell phones, keys, pots & pans, tupperware, cups, stuffed animals, Leap Frog fridge toys & bath toys.
You could always do something like a savings bond or a mutual fund for the baby. Books are always good. You can never have too many of those! Brianna has a wagon that DH got her months ago at Toys R Us. She LOVES it! What about a bean bag chair? My friends son just got one for his 1st b-day and he loved sitting in it while opening his presents.
HTH!!
