What to do with hole-y socks?

Now that I am done having kids and the weather is warmer, I'm kind of in spring cleaning mode, and that includes my clothes (since, err, I don't fit in a lot of them any more..!)

I have a lot of socks that have holes in them.  Do I just toss them?

For instance - I have several pair of SmartWool socks that have holes worn in the bottoms.  So it is a pretty unabsorbant fabric - cute with stripes - but we are talking like a dozen pairs that are worn thin or have holes.

Just toss them?
