Hospitals in New Orleans

Hi Ladies,

I'm headed down to New Orleans for Jazzfest next month. I am a Louisiana virgin! Anyway, I do not PLAN to need hospital services during my visit, but, just in case, can you ladies point me in the direction of a very good one? We'll be staying in the French Quarter.

Also, do you think that those swamp tours would turn away a pregnant lady?

Oohh Jazzfest while pregnant?  You are brave!  lol  Only kidding!!

 

Be sure you have a place with shade, or bring an umbrella for your own shade.  It'll be hot.  I'm not sure about the swamp tour.  I'd call ahead and ask.  I don't see why they would turn you away... but I don't know - I've never been on one.

 

I delivered at Touro Infirmary and was beyond happy.  It's off of St. Charles.

Ochsner on Jefferson Highway or East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie are two very good hospitals as well.

Thanks! I booked the trip before I found out about my pregnancy. Its actually a bachelorette party! eek! The other girls will go to the concerts for 2 days, I will stick with one.

I have been seeing an OB at ochsner and plan on delivery there. I really like it and they are one of the best hospitals in the country.  I recommend bringing something to sit on and plan on walking A LOT even just from a parking spot (good luck with that!). If you are staying in the french quarter then you should be able to get to wherever you need to go pretty easily. Be careful and have fun!
