Hello AL nesties!
My DH got a job in Talladega, and we'll be moving there in August. We want to rent a house for a little while until I find a job, and we have some time to get to know some of the areas around there. We are looking at Oxford/Munford or maybe Sylacauga area for a rental home. Any opinions on these areas or recommendations for us?
I know employment isn't great anywhere in the country right now, but for the Talladega area do you think Oxford/Anniston has any good employment opportunities or will I have to look around Birmingham (I work in public relations/marketing). Thanks!
Re: Moving to Talladega
Hi and welcome...not sure if you're interested but the Alabama Babies board has a lot more traffic...you can ask questions there and get great feedback from the ladies...they're an awesome bunch...hope this helps!

My parents live in Munford and work in Oxford. I would choose Oxford over Sylacauga, just because there is a little more there with Anniston being so close. There are not a ton of opportunities available right now for marketing in smaller Alabama towns, but Oxford would probably be the best bet outside of B'ham because there are more businesses and more growth in the area. Also, there is probably going to be a little more to choose from as far as rental homes go, in the Oxford area. Munford might have some, but it is pretty rural. Talladega might have some also, but research the area first because there are several parts of town that are pretty rough. You could also look at Lincoln for rental houses. It is very close to Talladega and might have some options. Hope this helps!
