Re: TTTC Ladies in Mke?

  • I am headed to my first RE appointment Friday.  If I like her, I'll let you know.
  • We went to Froedtert's reproductive clinic.  We saw Dr. Robb.

  • Hi

We used Frodtert (Dr. Robb) for our IUIs. We did not get pregnant. We loved it there and the staff but when we realized we had to move on to IVF we looked at numbers and the success numbers were not there. Actually not anywhere in WI. We left the state and went to Dr. Sherbahn (Advanced Fertility) in Gurnee IL. We got pregnant first try. HIGHLY recommend the clinic. Page me if you want more info.

  • First, let me say that I'm sorry you're having trouble.

In Milwaukee I saw Dr. Ellen Hayes for a consult and then did two IUIs and most of my testing with Dr. Strawn and Dr. Robb at Froedtert.  When we decided to move on to IVF we went to Dr. Sherbahn at the Advanced Fertility Center in Gurnee, IL (the same one Runsalot went to).   I can't even tell you how happy I have been with that clinic.  I chose to do the IVF there instead of with Froedtert because of their higher success rates and because after doing some treatments at Froedtert I didn't feel comfortable doing something as big as an IVF there.  I'll just say that Dr. Strawn and I didn't really "click."  If there is one thing I would say as advice would be to find a RE who you are really comfortable with.  You really need to trust them and believe that they have your best interests at heart.

Feel free to ask more questions, so many ladies are or have experienced something similar.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then success with condoms! Who would ever have guessed.

  • I'm sorry you are having TTTC.

I don't have an RE recommendation specifically, but we really liked Froedert Reproductive Medicine Clinic. We went there for DH's varicocelectomy, with Dr. Sandlow. I'm sorry that the surgery hasn't resulted in a BFP for you. I have read that IUI success rates are higher (relatively) after having a varicocelectomy even if the strict numbers don't improve much, seems to be one of the little mysteries of fertility.

We were fortunate that the surgery alone (and TI) was enough for us to get a BFP. I am interested in the other ladies responses because we don't know that we'll be so lucky for future TTC.

Married June '03. DS born Jan '09. DD born Feb '12. No, we didn't choose to be childless for the first 6 years, only the first 3.
  • I also saw dr sandlow - and dr robb, but the majority of our problems were mfi.  Feel free to ask any questions, most of us hang out on SAIF or TTTC.
