Bread Book Rave

I was reminded by the bread post below that I wanted to write about Healthy Bread in 5 Minutes a Day.  I had wanted to try bread making but was worried about it because I am not a baker at all.  The recipes in this book are very easy and super yummy!  They are all no-knead and only require a bowl and spoon.  I also love that you mix up a big batch and then pull pieces off as you need them so that you don't have to keep mixing fresh bread everytime you want bread.

The main dough recipe can be found here if you want to try it out.  This bread is very dense but super yummy!  I got the book from the library but really want to buy it after making a bunch of the recipes.

Anyway, I hope someone give it a try and enjoys it!  :)

Re: Bread Book Rave

  • I have looked at this one, we carry several no knead bread books where I work and I've been on the fence about which one to get. The same authors wrote Artisan Bread in 5 minutes a day and that one looks awesome, too.

  • I have the original book (Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day) and have looked at the healthy bread one.

I love the method, which is the same in both books. It works like a charm every time. If you want whole grain recipes, get the healthy one. If you don't mind some white bread, the original book has some fantastically delicious recipes.

  • Ohhhh I'm glad to hear that others are using this book!  I bought it a few weeks ago and then life got crazy so I haven't been able to make anything  yet.  I'm planning to do so once we are unpacked!

  • I've done several Artisan Bread in 5 Min ones and loved it and am on the library's holds list for Healthy Breads. I'm so excited!

  • I've gotten the healthy bread one from the library when the hold list was still short. I found some recipes in the book that I liked but a lot of them were to "grainy" for me. I copied some recipes to try from there but don't think I'd buy that one.
