Tissues - is it better to....
in Green Living
throw in the waste basket to ultimately end up inside a big plastic bag in the dump, or flush down the toilet (when otherwise using the bathroom, not flushing just for a tissue) where the paper will begin degrading but will end up needing to be cleaned out of the water system?
I know the ideal would be to use hankies or the like that just get washed, but this is something I've wondered about for some time.

compost them?
depends if your water waste company makes biogas of the waste. Oherwise nether has any positives.
We use hankies. DH loves his organic cotton ones from Kasper Organics.
It would be best to compost them but I would say only if they are chemical free.... not the Puffs with Vicks or anything like that... unless you don't care about that....... Not sure if your compost pile is organic or what???
But the best choice in the long run is to go with a hankie, it is re-usable and chemical and dye free if you buy the right kind.
