Want something funny/scary to read?

So my friend at work sent me the link to a blog she reads,

http://thatwifeblog.com/, because she wanted me to read a guest post by theOMGMom. It's the second one down and it's all about the things people don't tell you about for right after giving birth. It's definitely TMI and graphic, but she's hilarious!

Thought I would pass it along to my nesties that might be bored at work. For those of you, like me, who have yet to have a baby... be prepared, you might not want to after reading this, lol.

enjoy.

ETA: P.S. She writes her own blog, http://theomgmom.com/, which I am currently reading.

He's my fairytale, a dream when I'm not sleeping.

Re: Want something funny/scary to read?

  • OMG...that was truly terrifying. lol. I have to admit that while DH and I are dying for a baby and no aspect of being a mom scares me, I am absolutely petrified of  the whole labor and delivery process. I'm pretty tough and have a high pain threshold, but the idea of my girly parts being stretched beyond recognition makes me want to throw up a little bit.

  • Yea I'm gonna stay away from this blog for now. I don't think I'm ready even though I am fairly familiar with the labor/after labor "issues".

  • I just read the whole post!!! Yikes!!! As if I wasn't already terrified about birth and labor!  I like how she writes! I found her post to be quite comical though, and I will put her advice to good use when my time comes!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • OMG!!! Why don't they show you this on a baby story. I always see the mom's happy as can be like if they could go run a marathon. I wasn't aware of the whole bathroom issue. Ugh I am already terrified of labor and the intense pain associated with it not to mention an episiotomy but now I have all this wonderful stuff to look forward to. I think I will refrain from reading any more stuff like this. I guess if I don't know it then I won't be stressing out over it.

Lord I must say us ladies are troopers. We go thru alot to bring that little bundle of joy into this world.

  • don't worry, you may end up like me and just have the baby surgically removed, easy peasy ;)

     Victoria- you had a c-section?

I have heard that the recovery for a c-section has its own miserable details. I get freaked out just thinking about any of it!

yup Jake was breech and wouldn't turn so I had to have one. My recovery was pretty easy. I just popped pain pills for about 4 days after and took it easy and I was 100% back to normal after a week
  • I have to wonder if this woman had a worse experience than other people, or if she is exaggerating.  I know lots of women close to me that have had vaginal births and nobody has ever mentioned the recovery being that bad!

In fact, I know a couple of people who have had both c-sections and vaginal births and they said the vaginal was better because they were up and running  within a couple of days, compared to not being able to lift things and having pain for a while after the c-section.

Anyway, even though she does make it sound gross, I still want to do it! :) Oh and thanks for sharing, Katie, she is pretty funny.  I read some of her other funny posts (peeing in public, passing out at banana republic)
