woohoo...bought my worms!

I ordered 1 lb of worms today for our worm compost bin!  I've never composted before, and we don't have a yard, so this seems like the best way to go.  We already have some big plastic tubs, so we just have to drill holes in it.

We were thinking of setting it up in the little storage/furnace room on our porch...do you think they will be ok in there?  The worms arrive sometime next week, so I apologize in advance if I start hounding you all with questions in the next couple weeks!

I think they will be ok there.  Just don't let them freeze.  Maybe you can put up one of those garden thermometers near their box.  Good luck!

  • They have to be kept above freezing. They like it warm, but not hot.

Good luck! I've had my worms for about a year now (and a set before that that met a wormy demise). It's almost worm-bin cleaning season!

  • Oooh, worms. I notice you have a cat. Don't let her near them. ;) *nom nom nom*
