Admin's Day

So this is the first year of working that I haven't gotten an admin's day gift.  It's always been something small -- little flower arrangement, etc... and I know it's a silly holiday but I'm still kinda bummed it was forgotten this year.  I have a different boss this year... that's probably why.  I've just feel unappreciated lately already and this doesn't help.

~haha~  Yes!  I love those little guys but never see a reason to use them on here.  Snail

  • I'm sorry you are having a disappointing day.

We are having a terrible admin's day, too.  Our boss wanted to take us out to lunch or something, but that's really more of a chore than a treat.  I feel like a jerk saying it, but all of his support staff have said the same thing.  He always wants to go somewhere messy and the conversation is full of little judgments about how unfulfilling our lives are and no one wants to hear that.  We really just want to take the time off to recharge and get away from the office for an hour, not have a more concentrated dose.

We may just have to be "too busy" until he forgets about it.  I think I would rather it was forgotten.

I think this definitely sounds worse than my situation.  Smile  I hate awkward lunches.

  • I'm sorry they forgot about you.  I know what you mean about feeling "unappreciated"...I've felt like this all day today thanks to my boss and their boss.  Must be going around...
  • I've never had any kind of acknowledgement for Admin. Day... I've had an "admin professional" job for the last 5 years (with 2 different companies in that time).

I had no idea anybody did anything for it.

I think I was just spoiled by the old boss.  Smile
