What soap, moisturizer, and other products do you use for your skin?
Anything particular you use to clear skin of redness or blemishes and smooth it out?
Re: Face Care Products
Here is my routine. It has taken me a long time to get here & I realize it's not perfect, but it's working for me quite well.
1- Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash - I use this morning & evening. I use my hands to wash my face & pat dry with a towel - strangely washcloths continue to make me breakout.
2- Caudalie Beauty Elixir - I use this in the morning as a toner.
3- Physician's Formula Tinted Moisturizer - my AM moisturizer/foundation for the day.
4- After using the face wash mentioned above in the evening, I exfoliate using a sprinkle of baking soda & a squirt of honey mixed together = best. thing. ever.
5- Juice Beauty Antioxidant Serum - I use a few drops of this on my face before going to bed.
Others may flame me for my not-too-perfectly green routine, but it's done wonders for my very acne-prone skin. I'm just happy to be free of using extremely harsh chemicals now. I hope this helps!
For herbal skin care, I love anything with comfrey in it. It encourages cells to heal.
Contrary to what a lot of people recommend, I find that tea tree oil is too irritating and makes my skin break out.
I use the oil cleansing method - I just wrote a post about it on my blog a few days ago, at simplifyingthesimplelife.com
HTH!

I have a couple of possibly stupid questions if you don't mind, first is where would I find jojoba and tea tree oil? I looked yesterday at the local drug store and didn't find either. Maybe I need to look at a national one? Or would I have the best luck at the natural food store?
Also, what exactly is meant by steaming with the wash cloth?
Thank you, I can't wait to try this method!
Not stupid questions at all! Happy to help!
For the oils, your best bet would be the health food store. Although I know Target has tea tree oil - it's hidden away near the vitamins. You can also order them from Amazon, if you don't have a good natural food place nearby.
I just soak the washcloth in hot water (I try to do it right after I shower, so I don't have to wait and waste water while it gets hot!) wring out the excess water, then place the washcloth over my face for a few moments until it cools off. That just steams a little so your pores get nice and open.
Hope it works for you!
Eeeeek. Okay I've been struggling with a face care regimen for over a YEAR. I've tried so so much from the Oil Cleansing Method to burts bees to pretty much everythinggg. I've finally found something that keeps my face moisturized without making it become an oil slick by the end of the day WHILE controlling my acne (and I have a pretty big acne problem)
I found out I was washing my face too much...so here's what I do.
In the PM, I wash my face with Earth Science ADE Creamy Cleanser and then moisturize with Avocado Oil (pretty much the most amazing thing ever..I swear this has made my skin look amazing!!!) OH and if my skin is breaking out, I'll add a few drops of Tea Tree Oil to the Avocado Oil.
In the morning, all I do is rinse with water and then moisturize with Devita Daily Solar Protective Moisturizer (SO nice...moisturizing but super light and not oily at all annnnd it has SPF 30 in it which is awesome)
I buy everything from vitacost.com and it's way cheaper! Sorry I'm just super excited to have finally found a good facial care system that works GREAT!!!

I make it as I go, I just keep a box of baking soda & jar of honey by the sink. I just buy locally grown honey from the farmer's market. HTH!
Tried the BS+Honey...LOVE IT!! Made my face feel great- so soft.
