Bad Economy Strikes Again!

Today was supposed to be a somewhat happy day, Dh and I signed closing papers to sell our house in FL, after having it on the market since November '08 which is when we decided to move here for Dh's new job.

And then, this afternoon, Dh was laid off from that job. His company had been doing terribly since last year and had been laying off quite a few people over the past week but I thought surely Dh wouldn't be next, the reason he ended up with this job was because he was laid off from his job in FL, there's no way that kind of luck would strike us again! Apparently, I was wrong!

I think we'll be fine because he can draw unemployment and he had already been sending his resume out because he was so paranoid about losing his job but it's so annoying that things were finally working out for us and then this happened..

Oh, no!  How frustrating, its great that he's being so proactive and that you're so positive.  I hope he finds something soon, keep us updated.

I'm so sorry, Crystal.  I know what it feels like to have a run of bad luck, or to take one step forward and then feel like you take two steps back.  The past year or two have been like that for us too, what with me being unemployed for a year and half, then DH getting laid off just as I get a job, and some other family things.  I'm really sorry you're going through this, but the market is generally looking up a little bit so hopefully your DH can find something soon.  I'm glad to hear you guys have a cushion to fall back on at least.

Congrats on getting the FL house sold though; that's got to be a huge relief.

That's horrible, I'm so sorry. I hope things work out for you. I think so many of us have been there these last few years and it's so hard. You've got a great attitude about it which is half the battle! Good Luck!

Aww Crys I am so so sorry. I totally feel your pain, if you remember last year DH was laid off once, got a job, then laid off again, all within 9 months. If you need to talk/vent/whatever, you know where to find me. I know it may not seem like it right now, but it is great news that you finally closed on your house! Just try to keep up a positive attitude, like Rock said things are turning around.

Congrats on finally getting the house sold!! Sorry to hear about DH's job.  Hopefully one of the positions he already applied for will come through.

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's job. My DH was laid off for nine months and finally found a job three weeks ago. I know what it's like to be paranoid ... I often get nervous he'll come home laid off again. But keep your chin up! Things will get better. On the bright side, you sold your house, so at least that burden is gone. Good luck!

Aww I'm sorry! That really sucks about your H's job What industry is he in? Hope he finds a new job soon! Congrats on closing on your old house though! That must be a huge relief!

Awww Crys I am so sorry about your H losing his job.  Hopefully he will find something really great quickly.  Congrats on closing on your Florida house though.
