Anyone have an Aerogarden? Need help!

Im totally in love with it. This is my first garden in it and I went with the herbs. Only problem is....I have no idea when to start pruning. My chives are growing like monsters ( I planted about 2 weeks ago ) and I read on the website people were pruning within 10 days.

Can anyone give me an idea on what to be looking for or do I have a long way to go before even thinking about pruning? I'm new to all of this and I really think this can be my new hobby, only problem is I have no idea what i'm doing! lol. TIA

Re: Anyone have an Aerogarden? Need help!

  • I think you're OK so long as you don't cut them too short.  With my herbs I would just keep them cut back enough that they wouldn't hit the bulbs and burn the leaves.  In the beginning, if something was really tall I'd cut it back to the minimum harvest height that they tell in the booklet.

It was a lot easier once all of the tall things caught up and were the same height and could have the light all the way up.  : )
