Resources for landscaping a sloped yard

We just bought a house which has a drainage easement in the front yard which means that it is really sloped.  I've googled every combination I can think of but I can't really find an example of anything that looks like our situation.  We're going to have a landscaper come in and build up a retaining wall (as we have some erosion issues) but I wanted to get an idea of what is possible to do in this space.  Does anyone know of any resources or have had this issue as well?

I'm going to try to PIP.  We'll see how this goes...

Re: Resources for landscaping a sloped yard

  • Our entire front yard is on a 30-degree slope. We put a retaining wall on one side of the driveway, put a lawn in the flat bit right below the wall, and left the rest of that slope with mulch, grasses, shrubs, and trees.

On the other side we mulched and put in trees and shrubs.
