We have adopted (or she has adopted us) a stray cat who is extremely pregnant. We took her to the vet last week when we brought her in and the vet said she looks great, gave her a flea treatment and said she has a bad cold from being outside in all the rain and stress, but other then that looks healthy. She also said she was probably about a week away from giving birth. Over the past couple days we have noticed a slight pinkish discharge from her. Not a constant discharge, but a bit here and there. She usually cleans it up once it starts to come out. She is still acting normal....extremely sweet, purring constantly and just a love bug so I don't think it is anything bad, but wanted to see if anyone had experience with this before. If I notice it later when I get home I will probably call the vet to be on the safe side.
I wasn't expecting to have a pregnant cat in the house, but I am kind of excited about the kittens coming. The next phase will be finding homes for everyone!!
Re: Anyone deliver kittens at home?? Question
In my experience, it sounds like she is ready to pop those kitties out anyday now! The discharge is normal and I have seen it before. Make sure you keep the kittens for about 8 weeks, and always charge a small adoption fee, there are lots of people out there who like to adopt kittens, rats and small rabbits to feed as food to their snakes, reptiles, etc. It's more common than you think, and they never want to pay even $20 for them. Just an FYI from a crazy cat lady
