Re: Louisville Hotels

  • We recently stayed in Louisville at the Galt House. I'd recommend against it. It's a huge conference hotel, so if there is anything going on, it will take you about three years to get an elevator. Plus the rooms really aren't anything special. I've also stayed in the Hyatt and was much more pleased. The room was clean and nice, and it's within walking distance to everything.

  • i'm voting for Marriott Downtown.  it's the newest on your list and "hippest."  the Seelbach and Brown are wonderful, historic hotels, but the rooms are kinda small.  ALTHOUGH if you're coming close to a wknd, the Seelbach is in the middle of 4th Street Live!, which is a section of restaurants, bars, clubs.  anyway, Hyatt is also kind of a convention-type hotel.  i kinda like the Galt House.  there's a really cool bar and it's close to Jeff Ruby's Steak House.  i think you'd feel most comfortable at the Marriott though.
  • Thanks!! I am leaning towards the Marriott since I am platinum and will most likely get upgraded to club level. I will be there Tues-Fri. Is it safe for me to go alone to the 4th Street Live area? Our dinner meeting is in the private room at Jeff Ruby's! Our meeting on Tues is in Lexington so I just plan on driving back and forth.
