Slow down baby you're moving too fast

do you ever just feel like things are passing you by and you can't stay still long enough to enjoy them? I feel like DH and I are always on the go. We have dinner plans one night, vet. appt. another, class, the list goes on. Even when we do have a free night to ourselves...which is rare...I feel like we are still on the go because there is cleaning or homework or something to be done. I just want to be ahead so I can relax my brain!

Re: Slow down baby you're moving too fast

  • I feel like that ALL the time.  I think my issue is that I work 2 jobs so when I'm home, I'm in turbo mode trying to get everything I need to get done, finished.  Usually when the weekend rolls around, all I want to do is sit on my butt and catch my breath!  Hubby and i spent the evening doing... nothing!  We hit up Ikea this afternoon but otherwise decided that a rewarding day inside was in order.  Its been storming here too so I'm in "curl up on the couch and read" mode for once.  Been sorta nice.  I wish you luck, if you figure it all out, let me know.  I'd love to learn the secret!  :)
  • Gosh I know what you mean.  Our calendar for the next six weeks are packed.

When we know that we're coming up on a really busy time, we schedule our "Do Nothing Days."  We take that literally.  No housework, and we don't do anything we don't want to do.  We take them seriously because we need them - without them, we'd go a little nuts.

  • I feel like this too. there is never enough time in the day.
  • I feel like this ALL the time! The days when we can do nothing are few and far between, but I love them!! Today is actually one of them- it's raining outside and we already slept in- DH decided that all we'll be doing today is "cleaning... cleaning out our DVR that is"

But, my company has furlough days now, once per pay period, which we've found to be a blessing in disguise. I can get so much cleaning, grocery shopping, laundry, etc. done and then the weekend is so much more relaxing and not as rushed. The pay cut part sucks, but it definitely helps our up our relaxation time.

  • I started at the hospital just 2 weeks before the wedding, worked 60 hours weeks through the holidays, and even now have insane hours. I've seen 2 weekends in 7 months, and just found the CD with our wedding pics even. It's crazy.......It'll get better when I make full time (meaning I have some say in my schedule), but that could be a while yet..

SO glad DH's b-day is in two weeks- 3 nights in Vegas!

  • I feel your pain! We're moving in 3 weeks (EEP!) and just started packing yesterday. I work 6 days a week, so Saturdays are a total whirlwind. So much to do and so little time! Oh yeah... and I still have to get a JOB!  Tongue Tied
