Blue screen on Macbook.....HELP!!!

My Mac froze today while loading facebook, and so I restarted it by holding down the power button. Now it loads the white screen, then goes to blue :-( Its only a few weeks old so I'm sad.

What is there to do to fix this problem? I would like to try to figure it out before just taking it to the genius bar, but I will take it in before I am with out a computer. (I'm typing from my H's laptop, but he hates to share)

What can I do?

TIA!

Re: Blue screen on Macbook.....HELP!!!

  • Bring it to the genius bar--save yourself the aggravation.  If it's that new they will probably replace it with a brand new computer. My Dad's Mac was one of the very few lemons that come from the factory as well. He took it in and they gave him a brand new computer, no questions asked. Good luck!

  • I didn't get the BSOD, but my Mac got a virus that caused it to rewrite its startup files and caused the operating system to delete itself. The genius bar was able to reload my computer, minus all of our wedding plans and guest lists (we were less than a month out, but luckily I had printed almost everything) and everything else, but at least I got my Mac back with upgrades.

I did. They ended up having to replace the hard drive. It was totally fried. At least they could get all my pictures off of it.

    Thanks for the advice
